FEMCOS offers training classes, ranging from introductory courses for beginner to advanced courses for experts. So we offer a qualification for the use of the FEM with safety-related components and systems. In-house and customized classes are also available. We organize user conferences to deal with new findings in Finite-Element-Methods and in developments of the COSAR system itself, with speakers invited from industry and academic institutions.

FEMCOS is constantly involved in various research projects:
- process and algorithm development for component safety and optimisation
- optimal modelling and modelling techniques
- recording, management and processing of material data
- thin-walled and ultra light-weight structures
- adaptive technical systems
- energy and environment technologies
- transfer of fundamental scientfic research to industrial applications
There is a close co-operation with a number of Institutes of the Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg, and especially to the Institute of Mechanics and many other links to Universities and international research establishments.
COSAR is widely used in a number of research projects in structural and numerical mechanics and as a tool for development and computation as well.
