General Information

The company was founded on 7 March 1990 by Magdeburg engineers and scientists under the name of FEMCOS (GmbH) - Ingenieurbüro für wissenschaftlich-technische Berechnungen (Engineering for scientific and technical analysis). Through the integration of the COSAR^® Development Group, FEMCOS now has over 20 years of experience in FEM development and application in both industry and research.

Today FEMCOS has earned a good reputation with its main product, the FEM program COSAR^® for linear and nonlinear structure analysis as well as for consultancy services in a wide range of problems in most engineering industries. The company also contributes its involvement to international fairs.

Since FEMCOS both develops and markets COSAR, we can help in any special requirements concerning CAE software development and customising our software for your specific applications.

In addition to scientific work, FEMCOS also views itself as a necessary link to the demanding market requirements for the delivery of scientific results and their profitable utilisation. To reflect this important aspect, FEMCOS has been know since 1995 as the Forschungsgesellschaft für Technische Mechanik FEMCOS - Ingenieurbüro mbH (Research Organisation for Technical Mechanics Engineering Consultants Ltd.).

Memberships:

FEMCOS is a Patron member of the Verein Deutscher Ingenieure VDI (German Society of Engineers), a Corporate Member of NAFEMS (The International Association for the Engineering Analysis Community) and a member of The ASSOCIATION OF INNOVATIVE ENTERPRISES.

By car:

Travelling from the West, East or North (from Hanover or Berlin on the A2, from Stendal on the B189):

A2: Take the "Magdeburg Zentrum" exit. From Stendal: Stay on the B189. Take the city ring-road until "Dessau/Burg" exit - and head in the direction of Dessau/Burg. After crossing the brigdes over the river Elbe, turn right at the next major traffic lights (in front of the ARAL service station) into the "Herrenkrugstraße".

Travelling from the South (from Halle: A14 or B71, from Halberstadt: B81):

A14: Take the "Magdeburg Sudenburg" exit. B71 or B81: Stay on the road. Take the ring-road until the "Dessau/Burg" exit - in the direction of Dessau/Burg (see above).

Travelling from the East (from Dessau/Burg: B1 and B184):

B1: direction city-center, Hannover/Berlin. Don't cross the the brigdes over the river Elbe. Turn left at the first major traffic lights (after the ARAL service station) into the "Herrenkrugstraße".

By train:

From the central station:

Take the tram number 6 to the "Berliner Chaussee/Herrenkrugstraße" stop (around 15 minutes). Walk 200 meters in direction of the tram. Then you will find the firm headquarter on the right side.
